Tag/Day 7.1 nach der/after GRAND PRINCESS in Brüssel/Brussels, Belgium - Gent/Ghent, Belgium - Brügge/Brugge, Belgium

paiagirl war zwischenzeitlich wieder auf O'ahu und wir haben sie gebeten uns T-Shirts mit dem Aufdruck Humuhumunukunukuapua'a zu beschaffen, was sie auch prompt gemacht. Die Zeit auf Hawai'i war doch sehr schön und wenn wir schon keine Hawai'i-Hemden haben, dann zumindest doch dieses T-Shirt.



paiagirl went meanwhile back to O'ahu and we asked them to get us some t-shirts showing Humuhumunukunukuapua'a what she did. The time on Hawai'i was adorable and as we had no Hawai'i shirts, we need to have those t-shirts.

We refrained from having breakfast in the hotel. Breakfast in an American hotel must be like breakfast home for paiagirl.



Auf das Frühstück im Hotel verzichten wir. Ein Frühstück in einem amerikanischen Hotel muss für paiagirl doch glatt wie ein Frühstück zu Hause sein.

So werden wir um 07.30 Uhr bereits erwartet. Nach unseren Erfahrungen damals in Berlin, hatten wir sicherheitshalber darum gebeten keine zusammenhängende Zimmer zu bekommen. Ich habe gehört, dass andere schon Filmchen zur Orientierung gedreht haben, welche Türen um 05.00 Uhr morgens bereits freigegeben sind...



Around 07.30 hrs they were already waiting for us. After our experience in Berlin, we asked for rooms which were not close together and had connecting doors. I heard from somewhere that other made already movies for orientations which doors can be entered at 05.00 hrs in the morning.

So we went without having coffee.



So brechen wir ohne Kaffee auf.

Ich wollte mit ihnen in einer Patisserie frühstücken und habe mich für das Wittamer entschieden. Als ich im Internet gesehen habe, dass es sie nur in Belgien und in Japan gibt, war schon klar: der muss gut sein: Klasse statt Masse.



I liked to have breakfast in a true Patisserie (pastry store) and decided to see Wittamer. When I saw on their website that they only have stores in Belgium and Japan, I knew immediately: class instead of mass.

It was just beautiful to see.



Es war schon schön, alles zu sehen.

Alles duftete und lachte einen an.



Everything smelled fantastic and jumped into our eyes.

But there was already a warm cheese quice for me...



Es gab aber schon eine Käse-Quiche für mich....

Man wusste gar nicht, was man nehmen sollte.



It was really difficult to make a decision.

All the sweet pastries were a real temptation, but that was too early for 08:30 hrs.



08:30 Uhr ist doch etwas früh für so süße Sachen, obwohl es schon verführerisch war.

Und die Eistorten.



And the cake made of ice cream.

The fruits must be delicious.



Die Früchte müssen echt gut sein.

Weil das Café leider erst um 09.00 Uhr öffnet und draußen es noch zu kalt war, bot man uns an vier Stühle hier um den Stehtisch zu stellen, damit wir hier frühstücken konnten.



Because their coffee house opened at 09.00 hrs and outdoor it was too cold they offered us to get four chairs around one bar table that we could have our breakfast here.

Somehow they caught us: just with one piece of chocolate they started our sense of shopping. The only problem: the chocolate store is three houses away, and they open at 10:00 hrs.



Nun hatten die uns aber komplett erwischt: Mit einer Praline haben sie die Kauflust gefördert. Das Problem: der Pralinenladen von Wittamer befindet sich drei Häuser weiter und öffnet erst um 10:00 Uhr.

paiagirl und ihr Mann Eddie probieren eine echte belgische Schokolade. Und das Croissant war das beste, das ich bisher gegessen habe.

I would buy the whole cake subject I would know how to get her home.



Ich würde ja glatt die Torte kaufen, wenn ich wüsste, wie ich sie bis nach Hause transportiert bekomme.

Und überall Pralinen: gegenüber Leonidas.



And everywhere chocolates:opposite there was Leonidas.

And there was Godiva and in red Neuhaus. But Godiva is nothing unusual for me anymore as I can get it in every shopping mall in the US. My favorites are Neuhaus.



Und noch Godiva und in rot Neuhaus. Aber Godiva ist für mich nichts mehr außergewöhnliches weil ich es in jedem Shopping Mall in den USA auch bekomme. Meine Lieblinge sind Neuhaus.

Wir laufen weiter durch die Stadt. Dass die Belgier sehr auf ihre Comics stehen, sieht man hier an der Häuserwand, die für Feuerwerk wirbt.



We walked through the town. Belgians love their comics, and you can see it here at the house wall which advertised for fireworks.

We arrived with Männeken Piss (in English: peeing little man...). But he has dressed again.



Wir kommen zum Männeken Piss. Mal wieder angezogen.

Kaum zu glauben, dass das Männeken so klein ist.



Unbelievable that Männeken was only so little tiny.





We bought few chocolate with Leonidas to find out which might be the better one for paiagirl (and us).



Bei Leonidas kaufen wir für paiagirl (und uns): Ob wir wirklich die besten mögen, lässt sich nur durch einen Vergleich feststellen.

Innen posiert sich Eddie neben Männeken Piss während seine Frau für ein paar Freunde und Crew-Mitglieder kleine Männeken Piss aus Schokolade kauft und sich überlegen, wie man das den Leuten erklärt, warum er nun nackt ist und ob es sich gehört, solche Geschenke zu machen.



Inside the store Eddie just stand perfect for a picture next to Männeken Piss while his wife was purchasing some Männeken Piss made of chocolate for some crew-members and friends and was thinking how to explain why he was naked and if it would be a good idea to have such a present.
